Did you ever wonder how meditation fits in with your "yoga" (asana) practice? Or why you would do pranayama? This class explores various meditation practices that integrate the body and mind and discusses the tantric philosophy behind them. It is an introduction to the koshas, the chakras, kundalini, mudras, yantra and mantra--aspects of yoga not usually covered in depth in asana classes. While there will be lecture and discussion in each class, there will also be ample time to practice. Please bring a journal to class.
