Roger Cole, Ph.D. is an internationally recognized Iyengar yoga teacher trained in Pune, India, and an accomplished sleep research scientist educated at Stanford University and the University of California. His classes blend nearly forty years of yoga experience with his expertise in anatomy, physiology and neuropsychology to teach safe, effective technique and provide a profound, rewarding, relaxing experience. Roger’s yoga writings include Yoga Journal’s Anatomy column, Master Class Column, and Ask Our Expert Column, and Yoga International’s Asana Solutions column. His scientific research includes studies of the effects of posture on sleep onset, the effects of light on circadian rhythms, the effect of restorative yoga on metabolic syndrome and development of technologies for measuring sleep. He currently teaches and continues his scientific studies in Del Mar, California, and conducts workshops worldwide.
