Janet Braden

Janet was first introduced to yoga in 1993 by her modern dance teacher and was instantly taken by the fluid grace of the Sun Salutations and amazed by the effects that these movements had on her body, mind and spirit.

Wanting to share the benefits of yoga with others, Janet received her Yogafit certification in 2006 and began teaching classes in the Columbus area.  Seeking more knowledge and a deepening of her personal practice, she found her 'yoga home' at Yoga on High and completed the 200-hour Hatha Teacher Training program in 2009.  She was attuned to Reiki Level 1 in 2011 and is presently completing Yoga on High’s 500-hour Hatha Teacher Training Program.  Janet is also a certified Stott Pilates instructor in Mat and Reformer.

Janet has thoroughly enjoyed her studies with the many gifted teachers at YoHi and has also completed trainings with Maty Ezraty, Tim Miller, David Swenson, Richard Freeman, Cyndi Lee, Doug Keller and Rodney Yee.  She is grateful to all of her teachers, past and present.

In her classes,  Janet encourages her students to tune in, breath and find joy in movement while moving mindfully.  Proper alignment is emphasized as well as balancing effort and surrender in order to cultivate a practice that nurtures.  She hopes for her students to find a greater sense of well-being, both inside and out.

Off the mat, Janet enjoys spending time with her wonderful husband and two (rapidly growing) children.
