Lori Moffett

Lori Guth Moffett discovered yoga in 1993 and became a registered yoga teacher and Reiki Master in 2004.  Along with teaching Urban Zen classes and Self-Care Workshops at Yoga on High, Lori works with a variety of clients, including:  beginning yoga students, HIV patients, people in treatment for cancer and those simply interested in slowing down.  In her private yoga practice, Lori integrates restorative yoga, aromatherapy, Reiki and meditation to meet her clients’ individual needs.

Lori graduated from Yoga on High’s 200 hour yoga teacher training program in 2004.  Later, in 2009, Lori completed the groundbreaking Urban Zen Integrative Therapy program, designed by Donna Karan, Rodney Yee and Colleen Saidman.   This unique Yoga Therapy uses the modalities of yoga, aromatherapy, Reiki and meditation to ease symptoms associated with illness and its treatment, specifically pain, nausea, insomnia, constipation and exhaustion.  Lori’s hope and desire is to bring these therapeutic modalities into the mainstream Columbus health-care systems, offering patients, doctors and nurses the healing benefits of Urban Zen Therapies.

In 2010, she began the Yoga on High Reiki Master/Teacher program with Jodi Patton, RMT and 500 RYT, and Gail Sky, RMT and 500 RYT. This year long course helped Lori deepen her understanding and love for the Reiki practice. Since then, Lori and the partners at Yoga on High have attuned nursing students at Kent State and Ursuline College to Reiki as a part of the Urban Zen program, funded by the Johnson and Johnson Foundation.

Lori has stated that her personal mission is to ignite a self-care revolution! To this end, she and her friend and colleague Victoria Vetere PhD/HC, recently launched “Chai Chat” on Blog Talk Radio. This bi-monthly broadcast focuses on becoming calm and centered toward living a more authentic and healthy life.

Currently, Lori teaches two weekly Urban Zen class at YOHI and at the Nest. Whether you are recovering from an illness, are an exhausted caregiver or are simply someone in great health who is are looking for a more relaxed yoga class, this class is ideal for you. It is geared for students at all yoga levels. In her restorative and self-care workshops, Lori also offers aromatherapy and Reiki to help students unwind.

Lori lives in Clintonville with her husband Jay and their dog, Lily Roo. In her spare time, she enjoys shopping at the Clintonville Farmers Market, volunteering with the Women’s Fund of Central Ohio, traveling, meeting new people and spending time in nature.
