Each year Marcia and Linda lead a silent retreat for people who either have a meditation practice already or who want to attend a retreat that centers on meditation. We do other yoga practices during retreat—pranayama and asana—but focus mostly on various forms of meditation, walking, seated and lying down. There are few boundaries to joining us—you don’t have to meditate in a certain style or have meditated for a long time. We will teach all the meditation techniques we practice, even those that may be familiar to you. And you don’t have to have had any particular experiences in your sitting practice. All that matters is that you wish to engage in embodied self-inquiry in community with others.
Morning, afternoon and evening we will cycle through periods of stillness and movement. People who do not practice yoga asana regularly can attend gentle movement sessions; those who want more vigorous asana classes may attend those. All movement will be done within the spirit of meditation.
This silent retreat offers a time to be absorbed in our essential nature. Each point in the journey reveals that we are always home now.
Marcia and Linda have led retreats together for decades. They have practices in common and some practices they engage in independently, but together they offer a rounded retreat experience in a safe circle of welcoming.
