A Workshop for Teachers
Whatever form of yoga we teach, beneath the surface is a vinyasa—the step-by-step careful attention to detail, action and counter action within and between poses. We establish the direction of the posture, dissolve into the breath and release the form to begin again.
In this workshop, using the scaffolding of families of poses from the Primary and Intermediate series of the Ashtanga Vinyasa system of yoga, we will work with the complementary and interlinking forms that transform any practice into a moving meditation. As teachers we use these techniques first in our own practice and then as we teach, assist and continue to deepen the practice with our students.
Over the course of the afternoon together we will practice asana and work with meditation and pranayama as they apply to our own practice and to teaching others. The last hour of the class will be a philosophy lecture on The Middle Path with time for questions and answers.
