Silent Retreat Yoga Columbus Ohio

All 8 Limbs—a Silent Retreat

Silent Retreat offers you a time to journey deep within your thoughts, feelings, and sensations without the usual daily disruptions and eruptions, giving you the opportunity for insight and compassionate attention to the present moment.

During retreat you can devote yourself to various yoga practices, not just the physical asanas. Mornings begin with pranayama (breathing practices) and mediation followed by a long asana class. Afternoons offer various practices—sometimes a variety of active or restorative asana, sometimes different forms of meditation—and evenings are for chanting, poetry reading or question and answer sessions. There are long breaks during the day so that you have time on your own as well. During breaks you can walk the labyrinth or the beautiful grounds at Hope Springs, visit Luann Jacobs for a private Reiki session or catch up on much needed sleep. The community of yogis all practicing with you provides plenty of fellowship, and you can meet one-on-one with the retreat leaders if you wish. Marcia and Linda are leading the retreat this year, steeped in their practices and ready to welcome you to the insights that come with silent contemplation. If you would like to talk to one of them about retreating, call them at 614-291-4444.

The retreat fee includes all yoga instruction, housing and three delicious vegetarian meals per day. Arrive anytime after 3:00 pm on Friday. The retreat ends at 3:00 pm on Sunday. For more information on the retreat center visit www.HopeSpringsInstitute.org .
